Rooted In Generosity

At Oak Knoll Lutheran Church, God’s generosity is the foundation of everything we do. We are all rooted in God’s generosity.

As we reflect on the ways God has blessed each of us, our Generosity team invites you to consider how we can grow as a church community, sharing God’s generosity with the world around us.

This year’s mission theme for giving, “Rooted in Generosity,” calls us to recognize that everything we have—our time, talents, and resources—are gifts from God.

Like a tree with deep roots, we are grounded in the reality that God provides for us abundantly, and we are invited to pass that abundance forward.

From the youngest child in our preschool to the senior member who has worshiped here for decades, our entire ministry is sustained by the generosity of spirit that flows through our congregation.

Oak Knoll Lutheran Church is a community where God’s generosity is made known in tangible ways.

  • Through worship, service, and outreach, we are rooted in a mission to share God’s grace with others as we grow the fruits of God’s kingdom.

  • Our preschool, Sunday School, and confirmation programs nurture the faith of young people.

  • Our advocacy work with Beacon Interfaith supports those in need of housing.

  • Our monthly 12-step groups and neighborhood meals offer healing and support.

  • Our sponsorship of ten students education in Arcot, India, equipping them to make a difference in their community.

  • Every voice in our choir, every volunteer in our community meals, every moment of fellowship is a testament to the way God’s generosity moves among us.

Goal for 2025

Our congregational goal for 2025 is to increase our giving by $35,000 to grow our ministry.

Is this possible?

Yes it is!  If each of our 200 giving families contributes an additional $175 a year to their current giving—or an additional $3.37 per week—our shared generosity will ensure the ongoing growth. And for those able to give more, it will be an additional blessing of support.

You will receive more information about our “Rooted in Generosity” invitation, along with an encouragement to prayerfully consider your commitment to Oak Knoll in 2025 in the mail with a letter and brochure with more details. This is an opportunity to reflect on how God has blessed us and how our church community can share those blessings to make a difference both near and far.

Whatever amount you give is a vital contribution to our mission and ministry.

Rooted in generosity Sunday—November 17, 2024
