Oak Knoll Christian Preschool & Childcare - November 2025

ree

In October we learned about the life cycle of an apple and taste tested apples. We also learned about pumpkins through various hands-on activities. The children enjoyed going on nature walks collecting colorful leaves for art collages and picking the last of the vegetables from our preschool garden boxes. We started Chapel with Pastor Jay and Vicar Chantal in October, learning about Creation and Noah’s Ark. We ended the month with our annual classroom pumpkin parties where the children and staff dressed in costumes, played Halloween Bingo and had a treat scavenger hunt around the church.

We will start the month of November off with Parent- Teacher conferences. This year we have 54 children enrolled in child care/ preschool. We will meet with families and share their child’s progress in the classroom and work on setting goals that we will reassess in the spring. We will also have school picture day on November 13th; our program receives a portion of proceeds from picture sales.

In November we will be closed for the teachers to attend an in-service learning retreat with other early childhood education professionals. Some of the topics we will be focusing on are the neurology disorders in young children, challenging behaviors and cultural diversity in the classroom. We will end the month with a Thanksgiving Feast in the classroom where the children help to prepare the feast, set the table and then share a meal with their friends.
