Oak Knoll Christian Preschool & Childcare - February 2026

In January, the children settled back into their school routines, and we began to study the season of winter. Children enjoyed various activities such as comparing snowflakes, observing changes in ice, learning and retelling Jan Brett’s story The Mitten and creating several winter inspired art projects. With the milder temps the first part of the month, we were able to enjoy outside time and our new snow.

In January we opened enrollment for current families and to new families in our community. We purchased new tables and chairs for our youngest preschool classroom and new classroom rugs for the older classrooms. We also added new seating options to our classroom library.

In February, we will celebrate Valentine’s Day with classroom parties. The children will exchange Valentine’s with their friends and share a special snack. This month we will be learning ways to keep our teeth and bodies healthy. We will welcome a pediatric nurse and dentist to our program, to share with the children about their professions and why it is important to take care of our health.

We will be beginning our Gertens Plant Sale Fundraiser soon, keep an eye out for more information on when our sale begins. This is our biggest fundraising event, with our program receiving 30% of the proceeds. All plant orders will be placed online at gertensfundraising.com using code 36, and orders will be delivered to the church on May 16th.

We still have openings for preschool and child care for next fall.
