In November, we held parent- teacher conferences and celebrated each child’s success. In the classroom, we reflected on the word “thankful.” The children enjoyed making Thanksgiving themed art and centerpieces for our classroom Thanksgiving feast. At our feast, the children worked together to create a special meal to share with their friends.
We also collected food to donate to the local ICA food shelf last month. This was a wonderful learning opportunity for our children to participate in acts of kindness and begin to understand empathy and generosity towards others in our community. We were pleased to see such a positive response from our preschool families.

Last month our staff joined other Lutheran-based preschool programs to collaborate and complete in-service training. Topics that were focused on included neurodiversity, addressing challenging behaviors and supporting a diverse classroom and students.
Looking ahead, December is a joyous and busy month for preschool. We will be learning about Jesus’ miraculous birth in Chapel with Vicar Chantal and Pastor Jay. Our friends will also be learning Christmas Carols, which we will be sharing with families at our program on December 19th at 4pm. All are welcome to attend this event; this is always a highlight for our preschoolers and their families.
In January, we will open enrollment for the next school year 2026-2027. More information will be going out to families about the registration process in the coming weeks. If you are interested in learning about our program options or would like to be added to our contact list when we begin open enrollment, please contact Kathryn Glorvick at preschool@oklutheran.org.
