We started November with parent-teacher conferences, and we had a great turnout. We met with families and talked about their child’s progress and goals for the school year. Our connections with families are important to us. We also had school-wide picture day, which also serves as a fundraiser for our program. With each photo package sale, our program receives a portion of the proceeds. In November, our friends also celebrated Thanksgiving with their classroom Thanksgiving Feast. The children enjoyed making decorations for the table and the older friends enjoyed helping prepare food for the feast. We also focused on the word “thankful.”
December is a joyous and busy month for preschool. We will be learning about Jesus’ miraculous birth in Chapel with Vicar Jennifer and Pastor Jay. Our friends will also be learning Christmas Carols which we will be sharing with families at our program on December 13th. Following our program, we will have a cookie reception in Fellowship Hall.
Looking ahead, in January, we will open enrollment for the 2025/2026 school year. We will begin registration with our current families and then open remaining spots to new families. This past year our enrollment has grown by 15% which is fantastic! We have welcomed several new families to our program, who have learned about program from recommendations in the community. As we are getting ready to open enrollment, we kindly ask if you know of any families looking for preschool or child care options that you will consider recommending our program. Please direct any inquiries to Kathryn Glorvick at preschool@oklutheran.org.
