November was a busy month for our preschoolers. We celebrated our students at parent-teacher conferences, where we met with families to discuss all that the children are learning in the classroom and set some goals to work on for the remainder of the school year. In the classrooms, we talked about family, being thankful, turkeys and of course Thanksgiving. All classrooms celebrated Thanksgiving with their friends, by sharing a special snack together.
Coming up in December, we will celebrate Jesus’s birthday by learning about his miraculous birth in Chapel. The children will celebrate the season by helping decorate our classroom spaces and making parent gifts. We will also be preparing for our Christmas program, which all the classrooms will be participating in, followed by a special snack. Families and friends are invited to share their joyous event.
Our preschool will also be hosting an Usborne Book Fair in Fellowship Hall before and after worship on December 10th and during our Christmas program on December 15th. With all sales, we receive a portion of the funds. We are thankful for all opportunities that help our program grow.
Lastly, we are looking to add an additional staff person to our team. For the open position, it is not required to have experience. We will mentor and provide training to the right candidate who has a passion for working with young children. This position would include flexible scheduling options in the afternoons, competitive pay, PTO and benefits for those who qualify. If you know of a great potential candidate, or you are interested in the position, please contact Kathryn Glorvick at preschool@oklutheran.org.
