Oak Knoll Christian Preschool & Childcare - August 2025

In July we welcomed the summer heat with water days, where we set up sprinklers and water tables for the children to play and keep cool. We continued with our weekly music classes with Ms. Michaela where we learned about different genres of music, experimented with different musical instruments and had fun while moving our bodies. Ms. Michaela will continue with us through mid-August.

 We also welcomed Science Explorers, a local company that visits schools and leads a hands-on science presentation. Our presentation was on dinosaurs and fossils. We learned interesting facts on how to distinguish dinosaurs from other animals such as lizards based on bone structure. The children also made dinosaur rubbings and made their own fossils to take home. We finished the month with Soccer Shots coming to our program to lead a soccer camp.

 In August we will wrap up our summer learning with another soccer camp from Soccer Shots and a visit from an entomologist “Bruce the Bug Guy.” Staff will begin preparing their classrooms for our new group of preschoolers and their families at the end of the month. Our program will be closed for staff in-service learning days, where we will be training on various topics such as Early Childhood Mental Health, Anti- Bias Education and first aid training along with other required training through the Department of Health and Human Services.

We are continuing to enroll new families into our preschool and child care program. Our oldest preschool classrooms are full, however there are a few remaining preschool spots available in our youngest classroom (ages 2/3).
