National Lutheran Choir's 2024-2025 Season

Join the NLC for its 39th season, Healing: A Sacred Story, to explore five dimensions of wholeness and wellness through music. "We are called to practice acts of healing in this world.” says Artistic Director Jennaya Robison, “Choral music is the vehicle through which all people can find a sense of belonging and enliven their faith." The season will feature collaborations with numerous guest artists such as Cantus, Brian Newhouse, composers Melissa Dunphy and Hans Bridger Heruth, renowned experts of music of the Black church Dr. André J. Thomas and Dr. Brandon A. Boyd, as well as other choirs. Make your plans today to join the National Lutheran Choir for this exciting season!


All Saints – Healing: Our Legacy 

November 2nd (Shoreview) and 3rd (Edina) 

Examine how faith and music intersect the legacy we leave for generations to come with a program centered around Alex Berko’s A Sacred Place. 

 

Christmas Festival – Healing: Of the Nations 

December 13th and 14th (Minneapolis)

Inside the magnificent Basilica of St. Mary, partake in the joyous sound of Christmas favorites and selections from around the world, including the premiere of a new suite by Taylor Scott Davis and poetry read by Brian Newhouse, the festival narrator.

 

Tune-Up & Festival Concert – Healing: For Our Community 

February 1st (Roseville)

Immerse yourself in the rich traditions of Black sacred music under the guidance of renowned experts Dr. André J. Thomas and Dr. Brandon A. Boyd by participating is this year’s Tune-Up or by attending the free Festival Concert. 

 

Winter Concert and Tour – Healing: Body, Mind, Spirit 

February 28th (Decorah), March 1st (St. Cloud), March 2nd  (St. Paul)

Honor the work of healers through this program featuring a commissioned work by composer Hans Bridger Heruth and lyricist Brian Newhouse.

 

Spring Concert – Healing: For Our Future 

May 4th (Minneapolis)

Explore how to unite our communities to heal from the harm caused by gun violence with this program featuring a commission by composer Melissa Dunphy and guest artists Cantus, the Concert Choir of St. Michael-Albertville High School (Joseph Osowski, conductor), and members of the Westminster Presbyterian choirs (Amanda Weber, conductor).
