ICA (Intercongregation Communities Association) was founded in 1971 when two couples, aware of the mounting need in our community, began distributing food and clothing from a house in downtown Hopkins. Today, ICA provides more than just food for our neighbors in need. Their services now encompass food, jobs, and housing. In 2023 ICA supported our neighbors with more than 1,000 employment services, and they were able to keep more than 400 individuals in their homes with rental assistance. ICA is now seeing record numbers of families visiting the food shelf, and Oak Knoll is committed to helping them support our neighbors in need.
March FoodShare
Traditionally the spring is a time when contributions of food and financial support begin to decline. With over 1,000 families visiting each month, ICA’s food stock is in constant need of being replenished. In response, ICA joins hundreds of other food shelves in Minnesota to encourage contributions during March Food Share month. You can make a difference by helping ICA collect 150,000 lbs. of food and $250,000 during the month of March.
Oak Knoll is collecting non-perishable goods in the large bin on the pallet in the Narthex from March 1st through April 6th. You may also support ICA financially by giving in person or online at oklutheran.org/give by selecting Ministry Partner Support.
Your gifts are making a difference for the thousands of people that come to ICA seeking help! Thank you for all that you do to help ICA care for our community. Learn more at icafoodshelf.org.
