The Gathering is a partnership between Oak Knoll Lutheran Church and Avinity Senior Living. The Gathering provides respite and support for caregivers of family members experiencing early to mid-stage memory loss while their loved ones enjoy engaging programming in a safe and welcoming setting.
On Sunday, December 8th, there will be a table in the Narthex hosted by The Oak Knoll Gathering and Avinity before and after the worship service. Stop by the table and get to know about The Gathering and meet some of the many Oak Knoll volunteers. Brochures will be available.
The Gathering relies on volunteers to keep this inspiring program running. The program meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 10am to 3pm. It is important that we have sufficient volunteer numbers to ensure that each of our participants has a one-on-one relationship with a volunteer for the day. Volunteers can decide to commit to whole days, partial days, or one or both days each month depending on their busy lives. However, volunteers tend to get hooked on the program and choose to come often. Training is provided.
