30 Years of LPGM

Oak Knoll’s ministry partner Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry (LPGM) is celebrating 30 years of ministry this year! LPGM envisions a world where relationships transform boundaries and where all people have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Since being formed, they have provided access to quality education for people at the margins—especially women and girls—by listening and responding to local needs and priorities.

Oak Knoll supports LPGM by sponsoring 10 students’ educations in India. You can learn about these students and connect with them at the LPGM board in Fellowship Hall.

The Impact of Education

Your support is making a difference in the lives of young people around the world! For each dollar invested in education, there is $10 gained in earning and health benefits. Each extra year of schooling that a girl receives increases her later earning by about 10-25%. Also, a girl who attends secondary school is three times less likely to become a child bride.
