2025 Rummage Sale Finale!

Thank you to our Oak Knoll community and neighbors for sharing your gifts and time for our annual Rummage Sale. The Rummage Sale was a great success in many ways. This week we shared God’s word through actively serving one another. Many volunteers helped with publicity, set-up, pricing, sales, and take down. Our community welcomed people to “hunt” for that one of a kind deal. Can you put a price on generosity and fellowship?

There are many wonderful stories that occurred during the sale. One woman told me that she was able to buy clothes for her granddaughter who lives out of town. Another customer left positive feedback on Venmo; “Helpful kind hard workers Thanks.” A woman wanted to buy the set of dishes that was originally purchased from Sears in 1955. She was so happy to find the China set and give it a new home. Another shopper shared that her son had recently built a home in Grand Marais, and she was excited to have found a tablecloth that is perfectly suited for northern Minnesota, with moose, black bears, and evergreen trees. Another repeat shopper purchased items for an orphanage in Africa.

We gave our shoppers the opportunity to be generous and they often gave more than we asked when they paid for their purchase. They were happy to give to our ministry partners Intercongregation Communities Association (ICA) and Lutheran Social Services (LSS). This year our Rummage Sale proceeds totaling $6,475 will be evenly shared to ICA & LSS.

What happens to the leftover items? Disabled American Veterans (DAV) picks up boxed items and the Epilepsy Foundation picks up bagged items. Furniture and pictures are donated to Savers Unique which supports DAV. A few children’s items went to Reach & Restore in Hopkins. Health items are donated to Global Missions.
