
January—Amazing Grace Lutheran Church
Amazing Grace is Oak Knoll’s relationship partner. It was formed in 2018 to bring the Gospel to the Hmong and to bring the Hmong to the amazing grace of God. They are located at St. Philips Lutheran Church in Fridley.
February—Lutheran World Relief
LWR reaches out to people around the world to help those experiencing poverty and those stricken by war and natural disasters. Our Quilting Group donates quilts to be used as warm bedding, simple tents, or floor coverings.
March—Intercongregation Communities Association
ICA provides nutritious, well-balanced food to families in the Minnetonka and surrounding areas. They also provide financial assistance for shelter and other essential services.
Oak Knoll’s Sharing Garden provides fresh food for ICA throughout the growing season.
April—Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry
LPGM is Oak Knoll’s primary global mission partner. They venture into Africa, India and South America with education and tools to help themselves out of severe poverty. Oak Knoll currently sponsors the education of 10 LPGM students.
May—Beacon Interfaith Housing
Housing Collaborative
Beacon is a collaborative of congregations united in action to create homes and advance equitable housing. Beacon’s 19 buildings provide affordable housing for over 600 households in the Twin Cities.
June—The Gathering
The Gathering by Avinity is a twice a month meeting time for people with early- to mid-stage memory loss. The purpose is to give the participants five hours of learning and fun while allowing their caregivers some free time. It is a place where friendships are made, and kindness is shown to all!
July—Our Saviour's Housing
Our Saviour’s provides overnight emergency shelter, medical care, English learning, and transitional housing for those experiencing homelessness.
August—Global Refuge
Global Refuge provide resources, guidance, and community to help forge a way for immigrants and help their transition to the United States. Since 1939, they have walked alongside more than 800,000 new neighbors as they build lives in the United States.
September—Oak Knoll Christian Preschool & Child Care
OKCP is an environment where children learn and grow through creative expression, social interaction, intellectual development, and physical activities.
October—The Sandwich Ministry
The Sandwich Ministry was established to help feed the homeless. Approximately once a month we make about 500 sandwiches to deliver to Our Saviour’s Housing and wherever there is a need.
November—Plymouth Christian Youth Center
PCYC provides over 300 high-risk students with educational and arts programs at their center in North Minneapolis. Oak Knoll holds a school supply drive in August and a gift drive in November for their Annual Children’s Gift Sale.
December—Lutheran Social Service
LSS works with the elderly, disabled, members of the military, adoptees, homeless youth and refugees. They provide wide range of services including housing assistance, financial and employment counseling, mental health counseling and resettlement services.
