About the event

Brené Brown is a researcher and storyteller who has spent the last two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. Through being a professor, author, and podcast host, Brown illustrates how these four feelings are not mutually exclusive, but rather deeply interconnected.

In a four-week study on her book Daring Greatly: How the Courage to be Vulnerable Transforms the Way we Live, Love, Parent, and Lead, we will unpack these intersections and how they apply to our lives as people, friends, professionals, parents, children, people of faith, and everywhere in between. While Brown does not write from an intentional faith perspective, we will explore the commonalities between her research on vulnerability and our vocations as disciples of a Christ that came to earth not for power, but to show the ways of humble and risky discipleship. As relational people, Brown’s study will give us insight into being the most authentic version of ourselves for the sake of our missional purpose.

Please contact Vicar Bryce for more information, with any questions, and for details on how to get the book at bryce.bommersbach@oklutheran.org.
