Children’s Youth and Family Ministry

Ages 0 - 6th Grade

Our Children’s, Youth and Family Ministry is designed to be a seamless move from birth to age 18. We believe that young people should not see their relationship to the church community as having many opportunities to leave, but rather all kinds of reasons to stay. Those reasons are the relationships they have with adult friends and peers who love them. From baptism to high school graduation, and beyond, Oak Knoll seeks to be a place of “home” for our children.

Baptism is offered on the 2nd Sunday of each month . Baptism is the place we return to remember God’s promises to us through Jesus Christ, unconditional love, forgiveness and calling. We are all children of God! If you wish to schedule a baptism, please call the church office.

Oak Knoll Christian Preschool provides a safe and caring environment for children to learn through play.  We welcome children from age 33 months to pre-kindergarten.  As part of our congregation's ministry to our neighbors, we welcome both a mix of scholarship and paying students to ensure the accessibility of our preschool to all families.  (For more information about our preschool, click on PRESCHOOL on the main page of this web site)

Parenting Network is a monthly Saturday morning gathering of parents of children between birth and age 7 who come together to support each other and learn together. We spend time reflecting upon what makes our families strong and how we can grow as parents. We also offer each other helpful reflection on how we believe faith is shaped in our children. For more information on the Parenting Network, contact Pastor Paul.

Sunday School: our three year olds through 3rd graders meet on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:15 am, between our worship services. With Christian curriculum and loving leaders, our children begin the early learning of the bible stories and faith formation. We play together, pray together, tell stories and sing songs. Please call the church office and ask for Kristen Pettersen to register your child.

Summer Camp is available to all students between 2nd and 9th grade. We partner with Lake Wapogasset in Amery, Wisconsin and offer:

  • A weekend camping experience for our 2nd & 3rd graders called Seeds. Campers experience Bible Study, swimming, games, campfires and more.
  • A week-long camp for our 4th-9th graders that will help them grow in their faith through opportunities to participate in a variety of activities including chapel, games, campfires, worship

If you have questions about any of our Children’s and Family Ministry programs, feel free to contact Stephanie Friesen in the church office.
